![]() ![]() It blows me away how closely together all of these events occurred: Playlist Link: 2Pacalypse Now: 2Pac's Greatest Hits IMO, the most incredible thing about 2Pac was how, pretty much simultaneously, he released three consecutive classics that have only improved with age, all while going in and out of jail, being constantly scrutinized by the media, and mostly in a state of poverty. With so much revolutionary music made in a single decade, I feel it is imperative to look back and re-assess it with the benefit of hindsight. Like many albums, it has gone overlooked as the years have gone by. Last week marked the 20th year since 2Pac, alongside the rest of his hip-hop ensemble known as Thug Life, released Thug Life: Volume 1. It just occurred to me that I had missed the anniversary of his death, which occurred in mid-September 18 years ago. Now is as good as time as any to share my best of 2Pac playlist.
